West Lake Shore House  
      This is Carly Yates' first custom designed home, built by the Yates family
contracting company. The property is situated in a densely populated
lake community in Morris County NJ, and was thus designed to create a
feeling of isolation. Situated on a 75% grade slope, West Lake Shore
house is designed as a series of squares inset back on themselves.
Another goal of the design of the house was to create a roof line that would enable
it's surrounding neighbors to keep their view of the lake, which was
achieved with a minimally pitched metal roof. A 15' x 40' deck overlooks the lake
from the master suite. |
