This is Carly Yates' first custom designed home, built by the family contracting company. The property is situated in a densely populated lake community in Morris County NJ, and was thus designed to create a feeling of isolation. Inset into a %75 grade slope, West Lake Shore house is designed as a series of squares inset back on themselves. Another goal of this house was to create a roof line that would enable it's surrounding neighbors to keep their view of the lake, which was achieved by minimally pitched metal roof. The deck over looking the lake from the Master bedroom measures 15' x 40'
